Mitti and the others did not choose the household they landed in, and they cannot file a complaint about it. That asymmetry is the whole argument.
Advocacy here starts small and local — veterinary care, rescue and rehoming, the unglamorous logistics that keep an animal alive — and it works best through partnership. Shelters, veterinary practices and the people who show up on weekends achieve more together than any of them manage alone.
